Ri Bhoi, March 7, 2025 – Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Ri Bhoi, under the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam,
successfully organized a Fish Fingerling Distribution Programme along with a Training on Scientific Pond Management to promote sustainable and profitable fish
farming among local farmers.
The programme, held on March 7, 2025, focused on equipping farmers with high-quality fish seeds and scientific
knowledge to optimize their fish farming practices. Experts from KVK Ri Bhoi provided hands-on training in modern aquaculture techniques, efficient pond management,
and sustainable fish farming practices to enhance growth and productivity.
Speaking at the event, Bankitkupar Mukhim Subject Matter Specialist (Fisheries) , emphasized the significance of using
quality fish seeds and adopting scientific management techniques to boost farmers’ income and improve overall fish farming efficiency.
This initiative reflects KVK Ri Bhoi’s continued commitment to empowering farmers with research-based solutions for
sustainable livelihood improvement. The distribution of advanced fish fingerlings is expected to benefit numerous farmers across the region, contributing to enhanced
